WORKSHOP PRODUCTION MANAGER

​

Full Time, Mon-Fri, 7.45am - 5.30pm

We are looking for an experienced Workshop Production Manager to join our growing team. With a can-do attitude, you will oversee the day-to-day running of the workshop, reporting directly to Tim Cook. 

​

The ideal candidate will come from a strong bench-hand background and have at least 1yr in a similar management/supervisory role. 

​

The role requires the candidate to work from detailed drawings, managing and overseeing the production of all furniture. You will be required to work hands on as well as lead the team,  delegate and ensure the smooth running of the workshop, oversee the delivery of installations ensuring all projects are finished to a high standard as well as overseeing that all health & safety regulations are adhered to. 

​

Purpose of Job

  • Oversee the day-to-day running of the workshop 

  • Manufacture quality handmade furniture

  • Organise joiners, labourers, workshop and storage with daily/weekly tasks 

  • Managing Stock, Appliances and materials

  • Scheduling staff and manufacturing projects

  • Machine and tools servicing and maintenance

  • Weekly production meetings with the Office 

  • Managing quality control 

  • Plan, co-ordinate and control manufacturing process so that products are delivered on time and within budget

  • Ensure all deadlines are met on time 

  • Implement and maintain a housekeeping programme to ensure employees are working in an efficient, tidy and safe environment 

  • To comply and actively promote policies, including Health and Safety.

  • Oversee annual and bi annual checks alongside the Office Manager

  • Highlight areas of improvement

Person Specification and Experience

 

  • Qualified Cabinet Maker / Joiner at least 3 years experience 

  • Supervisory/ Management experience

  • Problem solving skills and an eye for detail 

  • Good numeracy and literacy skills.

  • Organised & reliable 

  • Ability to work under pressure 

  • Abilities to lead, work as part of a team, to work independently and to think creatively

  • Experience with working to high levels of accuracy 

  • Competent and effective user of IT, including Excel and Word and having the ability to learn to use our inhouse software

  • Willingness to adapt to changing needs and circumstances

  • A commitment to, and passion for, our company’s vision and values 

  • Hold a drivers license
